Family Lenten Retreat Schedule

Attached is a template purchased by the Archdiocese of Santa Fe from Twenty-Third Publications for a virtual Confirmation Retreat.  You may use this retreat as is or create your own based on the movements and topics of or similar to this retreat.  The links open to the appropriate reading or video except for the last video “Witness” on page 28. In place of the broken link listed, you may wish to use the Keynote Address from the 2016 Archdiocese of Los Angeles Religious Education Congress “Boundless Mercy and the Compassion of Christ”  (Starting at 5:10) https://youtu.be/bAioz7v0C6k.

As was noted in our December Deanery Meetings, smaller parishes that are scheduled to join other parishes for the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation may wish to get together and offer one retreat for all the youth being prepared in the various parishes.  Also, the goal is to offer a retreat experience that softens the heart and soul through prayer and reflection so as to allow a deepening relationship with and awareness of the Spirit’s presence within the Candidate as they choose to receive the Seal of the Spirit through this sacrament.  There is no requirement, from the Archdiocese, that retreats must be three days long.  In planning any retreat for children and youth, please follow the Archdiocesan Guidelines for Retreats: Guidelines-for-Adolescent-Retreats-8.1.16
