In the summer and the autumn of 2025, we shared some good sessions on the leadership resources for Directors of Religious Education. I am happy to invite you to our next sessions on the Green Book: Cultivating your Catechists.
The in person group in Santa Fe will meet Wednesdays February 4 and March 4, 10 AM to 12 noon. PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE: WE WILL MEET AT OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE PARISH, 417 AGUA FRIA STREET, IN THE SCHOOL BUILDING.
The online group will meet via zoom on Wednesday February 4 and Wednesday February 11
from 6 – 8 PM. Zoom will open at 5:45 to make sure our technology is all ready so we can begin promptly at 6.

• Great Women of the First Testament
We study the stories of First Testament matriarchs of faith, looking for what in their lives,
and journey of faith can inspire and strengthen us today. Mother Eve, Sarah and Hagar, Rebekah, Rachel and Leah, Miriam, Zipporah, the great judges and queens Deborah, Judith, Esther, and the foreign women of Jesus’ line, Tamar, Rahab, Ruth and Bathsheba will be our January companions.

• The Effective Catechetical Leader: Part III Cultivating Your Catechists
This excellent series of leadership resources is preparing Directors of Religious Education for our parishes for comprehensive ministry. This semester we focus how to recruit, prepare, and sustain a strong team of catechists for your program.
For both the in-person and Zoom classes attendees will need to purchase the book, Cultivating Your Catechists ($13.95). Each parish religious education office should have the complete Effective Catechetical Leader Series which is available for $65. We will be offering classes on the rest of the series in the near future.

• Spiritual Friendship
We take a look at wonderful friendships in Scripture and our Catholic heritage. We discuss what makes a strong spiritual friendship, and learn how to nurture our own closest friends. What does it mean to say “I call you friend of my soul?” .

• Seasons of Hope: Journal Two
We invite persons experiencing loss through the death of a loved one, physical change, job loss, major transitions to share this Catholic Bereavement Resource. Through Scripture, faith sharing and ritual, we find solace for our spirits.

• Crossing the Threshold of Hope
The Archdiocese of Santa Fe is encouraging every parish to develop a bereavement support ministry, to console and pray with those experiencing loss. This is a three-part training offering for parish bereavement committees. We will focus the theology of hope and of body, the stages and manifestations of grief, and becoming ourselves wounded healers in support of others.
