Let Us Journey Together
Thank you for responding to the invitation – an invitation from Pope Francis and the Vatican to participate in the Church as it moves into its third millennium. We encourage you to complete the survey honestly and openly.
During this synod, we will “journey together,” which will involve listening to the Holy Spirit and each other in order to discern the path we are called to walk as sisters and brothers in Christ. The synod “is intended to inspire people to dream about the Church we are called to be, to make people’s hopes flourish, to stimulate trust, to bind up wounds, to weave new and deeper relationships, to learn from one another, to build bridges, to enlighten minds, warm hearts, and restore strength to our hands for our common mission.” Synod Handbook

Did you know?  The Church has called the whole People of God to listen to and dialogue with each other on what it means to walk together as Church today and even more closely in the future then share that wisdom with our bishops.

If you do not have the opportunity in your parish or are unable to make the time your parish has set aside for this prayerful experience, we invite you to participate in a Synod Listening Session facilitated by the Archdiocesan Office of Faith Formation.  Come share your wisdom, your hopes, and dreams as well as your worries and concerns for our Church.

We have received the reporting form for the Synod. If you hold a listening session, please complete the fillable form and submit it to Denise Frias at dfrias@archdiosf.org

Archbishop Wester wishes to distribute the information in the attachments as widely as possible. He asks that pastors read the attached announcement this coming weekend (October 16-17) at each Mass, and perhaps provide it on their websites and bulletins. The prayers are also for distribution to the faithful. Frequent updates concerning the Synod will be posted on the ASF website.

Kindest regards,
Fr. Glenn Jones
